Southern Bank announces Diane Wakefield as Director of Wealth Management

Southern Bank recently announced that Diane Wakefield has been named Director of Wealth Management, where she will lead our brokerage/advisory services, personal and institutional trust and fiduciary investment management as well as employee benefits. Wakefield will office out of the Arnold location.

“We’re excited about the opportunities that Diane sees for Southern Bank in these lines of business, and we look forward to the work she’ll do to help our banking team be successful in educating our customers about the benefits we can offer through these services,” said Matt Funke, Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining Southern Bank, Wakefield held a senior leadership position with Commerce Trust, a division of Commerce Bank. She has 25+ years’ experience in trust, private banking, and advisory roles.

She and her husband are originally from the San Francisco Bay area, have 2 young adult daughters. They enjoy spending time exploring the Midwest and supporting arts and social interest causes through volunteer and board work. Wakefield is a board member of St. Louis based non-profit, Girls In The Know, and an active member of Easterseals Midwest Women’s Giving Collective.
